2026 Commonwealth Games: Team Ghana Ready for Day 2 at Glasgow

Date:

Team Ghana returns to action for Day 2 of the Commonwealth Games. Several Ghanaian athletes will be in the pool on Saturday, July 25, for the second day of competition at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, with the nation’s swimmers looking to build on their opening-day performances.

Leading Ghana’s challenge is Ivan Snowden, who is set to compete in the men’s 50m freestyle, one of swimming’s fastest and most competitive sprint events. Snowden will be aiming for a strong showing in the heats as he looks to secure a place in the next round against a quality Commonwealth field.

Ghana will also feature in the mixed 4x100m freestyle relay, with Ivan Snowden, Abeku Jackson, Nubia Adjei, and Unilez Takyi expected to represent the country.

The relay presents an opportunity for Team Ghana to showcase its growing depth in the pool, with all four swimmers combining their individual strengths in pursuit of a competitive performance.

While advancing to the latter stages will be a tough challenge against some of the Commonwealth’s swimming powerhouses, the day’s events provide another valuable platform for Ghana’s athletes to gain experience on the international stage and continue their development.

With national pride on the line, Team Ghana will hope to deliver spirited performances as the Glasgow 2026 campaign gathers momentum over the next couple of days.
