The Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante-Twum, confirmed John Paintsil will remain a part of the Black Stars technical team.

Reports were rife that John Paintsil was going to be sacked following the dismissal of Otto Addo as head coach of the Black Stars after a poor run of form.

However, the GFA decided to not only keep on former Ghana defender John Paintsil as one of the assistant coaches but also retain the core of the technical team under the former head coach Otto Addo.

“The core of the previous technical team, Fatau Dauda, John Paintsil, and Desmond Offei, will remain under the new Black Stars,” said Mr Asante-Twum at the unveiling of Carlos Queiroz as the new head coach of the Black Stars.
