Retired Ghanaian footballer Yaw Preko has called for competition for Gideon Mensah.
He disclosed on Max FM’s Sports Pack that Mensah has been too comfortable at the left-back position in the Black Stars for too long.
Black Stars of Ghana head coach Otto Addo has at times confessed Mensah loses concentration sometimes because of the lack of proper competition.
In his observation, Yaw Preko believes that the former Dreams FC player, Emmanuel Agyei, who moved from Ashdod FC to Dundee United in the January transfer window, may provide a stiffer challenge for the role.
“He knows the terrain before moving abroad and would provide good competition for Gideon in his position. He just has to remain consistent, and then we see how it goes,” said the former Anderlecht star.
