605 Apply for Gabon Head Coach Position

Date:

The Gabonese Football Federation has officially received 605 applications at the conclusion of the tender for appointing the new head coach of the “Panthers” national team.

The number is staggering! A total of 605 coaches have submitted their applications to take on the role of head coach for Gabon’s national squad.

The Gabonese Football Federation announced this through a statement released on February 3. The statement highlighted that the list is predominantly made up of European candidates, without providing further details.

The Gabonese Football Federation will now move on to the second phase, which consists of reviewing the submitted applications. A “shortlist of three” candidates will be selected, with one of them set to be appointed as the new head coach of Gabon’s national team.

Following Gabon’s exit from the group stage of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, the Gabonese government decided to dissolve the technical staff led at the time by Thierry Mouyouma.
