‎Secular music doesn’t have any positive impact— Ruth Adjei

Date:

Gospel songstress Ruth Adjei says she does not listen to secular songs due to their negative spiritual impacts on lives.

According to her, music is spiritual and has a tendency to build or destroy; therefore, she is selective about the songs she listens to.

Speaking in an interview on the Max Morning Show  in Accra on Friday, Ruth Adjei, who said she did not have any favourite secular musicians, indicated that she was even selective when it comes to gospel songs.

‎”Music is spirit, and the more you listen to something, the more it has a level of impact in your life. Even with gospel songs, there are certain songs I listen to and ones I don’t listen to. If I listen to the song and it feeds on my spirit, I listen to it to minister. I hardly listen to songs that don’t drive my spirit,” she said.

The “Same Old God” hitmaker noted that her moral upbringing impacted so much in her that she did not listen to secular music.

‎”My father was a pastor so even from home, they don’t play for you to even listen to it. Train up a child the way he should go, started from somewhere so I don’t listen to songs which don’t have any positive impact in my life,” she added.
