First Lady Lordina Mahama to Speak at United Nations Assembly

Date:

Ghana’s First Lady, Mrs Lordina Mahama, is set to deliver a keynote address at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) during the 7th Annual Prayer Service for Children.

The event, organised by World Vision International, is scheduled for Monday, September 22, 2025, at the Church Centre for the United Nations, Tillman Chapel, 777 United Nations Plaza, New York.

“A Moment of Hope,” the theme for the event, is expected to explore six dimensions of hope, compassion, resilience, purpose, joy, wisdom, and spiritual life at a time when the world is grappling with unprecedented challenges.

Other distinguished speakers include Rev. Andrew J. Morley, President and CEO, World Vision International, and Mrs Cindy McCain, Executive Director, United Nations World Food Programme.

The Annual Prayer Service for Children brings together world leaders, global partners, and faith leaders from diverse traditions to unite in prayer and reflection, calling for urgent action to improve the lives of the world’s most vulnerable children.
