‎I paid people to insult me—Akuapem Poloo

Renowned socialite Rosemond Brown, known widely as Akuapem Poloo, has disclosed that she paid people to insult her in gaining fame.‎


‎This she said made her gain ambassadorial deals and other social gigs that boosted her livelihood and career in acting.

‎Akuapem Poloo revealed this in a recent media interview that has since gone viral on social media.

‎“At first when I started, I was paying for people to insult me for about a year. I’ve been in the game and no one calls me and I was not getting anything but after that people were calling me for interviews, skin care deals,” she said.

‎Akuapem Poloo indicated that she gained media attention, brand attention and many musicians including Highlife singer Fameye even paid her to twerk on his song.

‎”Stars would call me to dance or twerk on their songs and they would pay me. Even Fameye was giving me GH¢5,000 to twerk on his song,” she added.

‎On her early acting career, Poloo recalled earning as little as GH¢20 for some roles till her work with GBC’s Obra series paid better.
