Abeiku Santana denies working on radio after assuming public office

Date:

Media personality Abeiku Santana has described as false the claims made by former Deputy Tourism Minister, Mark Okraku-Mantey, that he continues to host radio shows despite his appointment into the public service.‎

‎Santana is appointed as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) and was previously hosting a show on Okay FM and UTV.

‎Following his appointment, Okraku-Mantey expressed concerns about Santana’s alleged dual roles, suggesting that continuing media work while holding a public office position could breach Public Service Commission regulations.

‎He cited the example of Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, who left his media career before entering politics, as a model for separating media and governmental responsibilities.

‎Reacting to the allegations, Santana told NEWS-ONE on Monday that he had quit his job on the radio after assuming his role at GTA.

‎“I have not been on the radio since my appointment,” he indicated.

‎Santana also addressed the issue on Facebook, describing Okraku-Mantey’s claims as “entirely false and misleading.”
