Media personality Abeiku Santana has described as false the claims made by former Deputy Tourism Minister, Mark Okraku-Mantey, that he continues to host radio shows despite his appointment into the public service.
Santana is appointed as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) and was previously hosting a show on Okay FM and UTV.
Following his appointment, Okraku-Mantey expressed concerns about Santana’s alleged dual roles, suggesting that continuing media work while holding a public office position could breach Public Service Commission regulations.
He cited the example of Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, who left his media career before entering politics, as a model for separating media and governmental responsibilities.
Reacting to the allegations, Santana told NEWS-ONE on Monday that he had quit his job on the radio after assuming his role at GTA.
“I have not been on the radio since my appointment,” he indicated.
Santana also addressed the issue on Facebook, describing Okraku-Mantey’s claims as “entirely false and misleading.”
