2025 U-20 AFCON: Ghana Drawn Against Senegal in Group C

Date:

Ghana’s U-20 national team, the Black Satellites, has been drawn into Group C for the 2025 U-20 AFCON, joining Senegal, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and the Central African Republic in a tough group.

The draw for the CAF U-20 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) was conducted on Sunday, April 13, in Cairo, Egypt. The tournament is scheduled to run from April 27 to May 18, bringing together the continent’s top youth teams.

Originally slated for Côte d’Ivoire, the competition was relocated to Egypt after the original host nation withdrew. This change in venue adds a new dynamic to a tournament already loaded with talent and history.

Desmond Ofei, head coach of the Black Satellites, has been guiding his team through a series of preparations, including a training camp in Morocco. The squad has since resumed training in Accra, Ghana, and is expected to engage in a number of friendly matches as part of final preparations before departing for Egypt.

Facing African heavyweights like Senegal, the Black Satellites must hit the ground running in their group stage matches. If Ghana advances, potential knockout stage opponents include strong sides like host nation Egypt, Morocco, South Africa, or Zambia.

Fans can expect high stakes and exciting fixtures as Ghana chases continental glory in this year’s U-20 AFCON.
