The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has entered into a strategic partnership with Wilsad Support Limited to launch an exclusive radio broadcast pilot project, aimed at enhancing the media coverage of domestic football.
The deal grants Wilsad Support Limited exclusive radio broadcasting rights to selected GFA-organized competitions, including matches in the Ghana Premier League, Division One League, and Women’s Premier League. This initiative marks a significant move towards professionalizing local football media rights and expanding fan engagement across the country.
According to the GFA, the pilot phase will assess the commercial and technical viability of dedicated radio rights for Ghanaian football. The outcome will inform a broader rollout strategy for future seasons.
“We are excited to partner with Wilsad Support Limited in this groundbreaking initiative. It represents our commitment to growing the value of Ghana football through strategic media partnerships,” said a GFA spokesperson.
Wilsad Support Limited will be responsible for producing and distributing live radio commentary, match previews, and post-match analysis. The pilot is expected to improve matchday experience for fans who rely on radio as their primary source of sports content—especially in areas with limited internet access.
The partnership also opens doors for increased sponsorship opportunities, as the formal structuring of radio broadcast rights makes it easier to package and market content to advertisers.
