A return to the Accra Sports Stadium has led to a return to winning ways for the Accra Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League (GPL).
Raphael Amponsah’s 24th minute long range strike handed Hearts of Oak vital three points against Medeama SC.
The win comes as a huge relief for the under-fire head coach Aboubakar Ouattara and his Phobians after their unsurprising four-match losing streak.
Black Stars goalkeeper and captain of Hearts of Oak Benjamin Asare started in goal, hoping to avoid yet another defeat in the GPL.
Asare marshaled his defense line well and held on to claim maximum points, after Amponsah had given the home side the lead.
Fans of Hearts would certainly hope a win on their return to their traditional home grounds would inspire a turnaround in the team’s fortunes, as they look to stake their claim for the title.
