Medeama SC continue their fine form under manager Ibrahim Tanko, rallying from a goal down to defeat Basake Holy Stars 2-1 in an outstanding Week 21 Ghana Premier League fixture at the TnA Park on Tuesday afternoon.
Issah Yakubu stunned the home crowd by putting Holy Stars ahead in the 28th minute. However, Medeama responded before halftime, with Black Stars left-back Kamaradini Mamudu leveling the score.
The former Premier League champions pushed for a winner throughout the second half, eventually securing victory in the 89th minute through Derrick Fordjour—despite having missed an earlier penalty.
The win temporarily lifts Medeama into the top four, though their position could change depending on Wednesday’s results. Meanwhile, Basake Holy Stars remain 13th, just six points above the relegation zone.
In the other Tuesday fixture, Bibiani Gold Stars reclaimed the top spot in the league with a 2-1 victory over Heart of Lions at Duns Park. Samuel Atta Kumi and Gideon Anaba (penalty) were on target for the Miners, while Nana Kwame Oppong pulled one back for Lions in the 60th minute.
The remaining outstanding Week 21 fixtures will be played on Wednesday, April 2.
