Predicting Big Wins Against Chad is a Problem– Sam Johnson Cautions Black Stars

Date:

Former Black Stars defender Sam Johnson has expressed concern over predictions of a high-scoring victory for Ghana against Chad in their upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifier.

According to him, such expectations could put unnecessary pressure on the team and create complacency among the players.

Speaking ahead of the match, Johnson warned that underestimating Chad could be costly, emphasizing the importance of focus and determination.

“Broadcast journalists are already predicting big scorelines, but that is a problem. No game is won before kickoff, and the Black Stars must approach this match with full concentration. Chad may not be the strongest team, but football has changed—there are no minnows anymore,” he said on the Max Sports Pack .

Ghana will face Chad on Friday, March 21, 2025, at the Accra Sports Stadium before traveling to Morocco for their next game against Madagascar. The Black Stars are aiming to bounce back from their recent struggles and secure a place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
