The bankroller of Medeama Sporting Club, Moses Armah Parker, has made a strong call for the return of StarTimes as broadcasters of the ongoing Ghana Premier League.
Leadership at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) turned over broadcast rights to other media houses after their contract with the global StarTimes expired at the end of the 2023-24 season.
Many, including the likes of Moses Parker, have criticized the quality of coverage of Ghana’s top football division, hence the appeal for high quality production by StarTimes.
“The league coverage is not going well with what we were used to. So it has resulted in poor TV scheduling. Are they following the rules of the game?
The FA is working on bringing StarTimes on board because we don’t like the current poor coverage of the league,” he said in an interview on the Sports Pack show on Max FM.
The poor production of the league coverage has often seen conflicts regarding broadcasting schedules so far in the 2024-25 Ghana Premier League.
Following reports of media partners of the GFA being turned away on Sunday, January 5, 2025, when they arrived to take coverage of Medeama vs. Kotoko at the TnA Stadium, the GFA proceeded to charge Medeama SC for allegedly breaching Section 42(6) of its Premier League Regulations, 2019.
