The people of Akyem Anamase near Oda in the Eastern Region of Ghana have been dealt a huge blow by the passing of Anamase Police Station officer, Chief Inspector Gowdwin Beniba.
The tragic incident occurred with groom, Chief Inspector Gowdwin Beniba, arrived at the Anamase Hotel for his wedding ceremony over the weekend.
Wedding guests who had come from far and near witnessed the groom, awaiting the arrival of his bride, Florence Debrah, drop to the ground after complaining of dizziness.
Chief Inspector Gowdwin Beniba was pronounced dead on arrival by doctors at the Anamase Clinic. His family has requested his body to be transported back to their hometown in the Northern Region ahead of burial.
The heartbreaking incident has dampened the festive mood in Anamase, as items such as foods and drinks to be used at the ceremony went to waste.
