The Flamingos of Nigeria will take on the Black Maidens of Ghana in the final of the 2024 WAFU B Girls Cup.
Prior to the Nigerians booking the final berth, Joe Nana Adarkwa’s Black Maidens thrashed Ivory Coast 5-0 on the afternoon of Thursday, December 19, at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence.
Christiana Ashianku, 16, of Rootz Sistas, scored a first-half hat-trick to assert Ghana’s authority in the game.
Zipporah Ayantoya and Seidatu Wahab scored Ghana’s 4th and 5th goals, respectively to seal a dominant display over the Ivorians.
The Flamingos, who defeated Niger 9-0 in their opening game of the tournament, managed a 2-0 win over a much more resolute Benin team to set up a mouth-watering final clash against Ghana on Sunday, December 22.
