Super Clash: Assibey-Asare error gifts Kotoko win over Hearts

Date:

A mix-up at the defense of the Glorious Hearts of Oak by a combination of defender Kelvin Osei Assibey and goalkeeper Benjamin Asare ensured Asante Kotoko emerged victorious on Sunday, December 15, 2024.

The two giants of Ghanaian football, Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak, locked horns in the first of the ‘Super Clash’ in the 2024-25 Ghana Premier League season at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Kotoko defender Joseph Ablorh backed up his pre-match comments of taming the attackers of Hearts by putting up solid displays at the backline of his team.

In-form striker Albert Amoah capitalized on the Phobians’ error in the 90+5 minutes to hand Asante Kotoko the bragging rights in the first half of the season.

With their sixth win out of thirteen games so far in the league, Kotoko move above Hearts to sixth in the Ghana Premier League standings.
