PFAG Legends, made up of former Black Stars players, will lock horns with the Universal Merchant Bank S.P.E.E.D Stars in a thrilling exhibition match at the Adjiringanor Astro Turf.
The much-anticipated clash is scheduled for Saturday, September 19, 2026, at the Adjiringanor Astro Turf, with kick-off set for 7:00 AM.
The matchup is set to feature some of the finest retired players to ever represent the Black Stars and a very competitive and energetic UMB Official Football Team, winners of the 2026 Bankers Football Gala, in an entertaining match.
The long-standing relationship between the Ghana Football Association and the Universal Merchant Bank, the newest headline sponsor of the Ghana Division League, is also expected to be strengthened through this initiative, while also providing an opportunity for former Black Stars players to reconnect with the game and fans, and showcasing the footballing talent within UMB’s official team.
Notable names set to feature for the PFAG Legends include goalkeepers Fatau Dauda and Sammy Adjei, and outfield players like Afo Dodoo, Prince Tagoe, Majeed Waris, Yaw Acheampong, Yaw Preko, George Alhassan, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, John Mensah, John Paintsil, Jerry Akaminko, Daniel Opare, amongst others.
With experience and pedigree on the side of the Legends, youthful energy is expected to be on the side of the UMB S.P.E.E.D. Stars, a team that brushed aside seven other banks to lift the 2026 Bankers Football Gala, the fixture promises an entertaining morning of football at Adjiringanor.
