No data proves Stonebwoy as most hardworking musician in Ghana – Koka

Date:

Controversial entertainment pundit Kwaku Osei Korankye Asiedu, popularly known as Koka, has condemned claims that Afro-dancehall artiste Stonebwoy is the most hardworking musician in Ghana.

According to him, there is no genuine data and economic indicators to back the claims.

Speaking in a Zoom interview with Max Morning Show on Monday, Koka indicated that the assertion that Stonebwoy was the most hardworking artist was fallacious.

“Sometimes we need to be careful with how we position a brand. Yes, Stonebwoy has been in existence for 15 years, but look at Daddy Lumba. Lumba has had a song for about 30 years, and the song is still relevant today.”

“Look at Amakye Dede; look at Osibisa. What we should know and ask ourselves is: ‘The songs that Stonebwoy is producing today, 20 years to come, will it speak?'” He queried.

Koka observed that some of the veteran musicians like Daddy Lumba, Amakye Dede, and Kojo Antwi were being paid whopping sums to perform at various events due to their exceptional works and termed the claims about Stonebwoy being the sole hardworking artist as a figment of some people’s imagination.

“The assertion that Stonebwoy is the most hardworking musician in the country is the figment of somebody’s perception and imagination. But, unless you give me data that this is how much he has earned through music, this is how much he has earned through royalty, and this is how much he has paid through tax returns,” he added.

Until those economic indicators and data were provided, Koka said Stonebwoy could not be the most hardworking artist.

He admitted that Stonebwoy understood the showbusiness, but the hard work of various musicians, including Black Sherif, Fameye, and KiDi, was complementing Stonebwoy’s work in the industry.

Koka’s argument was to condemn claims made by artist manager Bullgod, who asserted on the Max Morning Show last Friday that Stonebwoy was the most hardworking musician since the inception of Osibisa.

Bullgod further claimed that Stonebwoy was the current biggest Ghana music export and would soon bring Grammys home.
