A 16-year-old teenager’s head was bitten off in a shark attack when he went swimming off the coast of Jamaica.
Identified by the police as Jahmari, his body was recovered by divers with his head bitten off and his left arm missing in the attack.
His body was found in waters just north of the island, authorities said, after he went swimming on Monday around 6 a.m.
Onlookers crowded the beach in the tourist town of Montego Bay when the divers brought his body parts ashore.
“I can’t believe that he went to sea by himself yesterday, and that was the outcome. Sad to know. I feel so bad,” Jahmari’s father, Michael Reid, told the Jamaican newspaper Observer.
