Real Tamale United has officially issued an unqualified apology to the Ghana Football Association, begging for “mercy” for fielding unregistered players against Dreams FC on Wednesday, June 12, 2024.
In the aforementioned outstanding match against the MTN FA Cup champions, RTU fielded unknown players to impersonate a number of their players and lost 8-1 at Dawu.
As a result of this, the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association charged the club with breaching Section 34(6)(d) of the GPL regulations and gave them up to Friday, June 14, 2024, to respond, which they claim to have done so.
The Tamale-based side issued an apology on Saturday, June 15 issued an apology, stating their actions “was never deliberate and was never intended to ridicule our beautiful game.”
The ‘Pride of the North’ as they often refer to themselves have not made the North proud at all in the 2023–24 season, suffering demotion to the Access Bank Division One League.
