Danlad Ibrahim produced stunning performances to end Asante Kotoko’s losing streak in the Ghana Premier League.
In the starting lineup against Bechem United at Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park, the Ghanaian international came in for the injured Frederick Asare, the new goalkeeper for the Black Stars.
The hunters dominated the game from the start with relentless attacks, causing many problems on the wings.
Emmanuel Annor forced an outstanding save from Danlad Ibrahim in the 27th minute when his quick volley produced a flying save from the Kotoko goalkeeper.
Dr. Ogum’s side failed to register a shot on target in the first half, as Bechem played exceptionally well.
After conferring with his assistant, center referee Osman withdrew his whistle for a penalty at the half-hour mark, causing drama as it seemed Kotoko defender Nurudeen Alhassan had blocked Emmanuel Annor’s attempt.

Retired FIFA referee Alex Kotey, in an interview with Mutala Yakubu after the game, supported the match officials’ decision to rescind his initial penalty call.
The Porcupine Warriors’ shot stopper was on hand again to save his side from going behind in the game in the second half as the home side continued their dominance.
Steven Desse Mukwala’s introduction in the second half had no effect on Asante Kotoko’s attacking attempts.
Asante Kotoko are 7th in the Ghana Premier League standings with 33 points, a point less than 5th-placed Bechem United.
