MAX ENTERTAINMENT: Samini replies Wiyaala over Safarifest artwork

Date:

Following the Wiyala’s uproar concerning the artwork of Safarifest, award-winning musician Samini has expressed intentions to involve the organizers to address the issue quickly to avoid scandal.

According to him, he is unaware of the promotional flyer circulating on social media.

Reacting to Wiyaala’s concern on his Facebook page, the reggae/dancehall musician explained that Safarifest was his concept, but it was not intended for January 1st, 2024, as indicated on the flyer.

He disclosed that the organizers did not seek his request for a picture for the viral artwork, raising concerns about the approval process.

“I’m honestly not aware of this particular artwork, dear sis. I will get the organizers to do the needful. They didn’t even ask me for a picture for this particular artwork. Whoever did it decided to change my #SaminiFest to #Safarifest. #safarifest is also my concept, but not for January 1st.

I wonder who directed and approved this to be shared, but all those details need to be addressed before there can be a show,” he wrote.

Samini vowed to take immediate action to have the controversial promotional material removed.

He also apologized to Wiyaala for any inconvenience caused, assuring her that he would ensure the necessary corrections were made.

“Pls accept my apology and trust me to get them to pull this down asap. Stay blessed and see you in #jirapa soon ❤️😊🙏🏾✊🏾 (sic),” Samini posted.

It could be recalled that when the promotional artwork was shared online, it came to light that Wiyaala was dissatisfied with the promotional material, specifically highlighting her picture being obscured behind Samini, Kuami Eugene, and Fancy Gadam.

She firmly warned the organizers to rectify the placement of her image, emphasizing that she was not a backup artist, and threatened to withdraw from the event if her concerns were not addressed with immediate effect.

After Samini’s apology, Wiyaala took down her post to amicably solve the issue.
