SAD NEWS!!!: Another Kotoko legend is dead

Date:

Retired Kumasi Asante Kotoko captain, Ernest Papa Arko has passed on to glory after a short illness in the early hours of Sunday.

During what is regarded as a golden era in the Porcupine Warriors’ history, in 1980, the late Papa Arko captained the team and played for the team in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

He led them to victory in the 1983 CAF Champions League and was a member of the team that placed second in the 1982 African Cup of Champions Clubs, behind Al Ahly of Egypt.

Arko participated in the 1980 and 1984 African Cup of Nations as a player for the Black Stars.

After Joe Debrah and Robert Eshun, he is the third legend from Kotoko to die.
