2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers: Ghana advance to final round after win over Eswatini

Date:

Ghana advanced to the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifying final round by defeating Eswatini 2-0 with an 8:1 aggregate score.

The Black Princesses defeated their opponents 6-1 in the opening match and were aiming for a double against them on Sunday.

With one goal and one assist, Beline Nyarko maintained her excellent play to help Yussif Basigi’s team go to the final round of qualifying.

After connecting on Wasiima Mohammed’s cross in the sixth minute, Beline started it all with a dinked finish to give Ghana the lead.

She set up Sarah Nyarko for the second goal superbly, and six minutes later she turned the provider.

The Black Princesses led 2:0 at the half despite having numerous opportunities to score but failing to convert them.

The game concluded 2-0 despite Yussif Basigi’s attempts to breach the Eswatini defense with the introduction of Rose Boakyewaa and Yazdadatu.

The final qualifying round will now take place in January 2024, with Ghana playing against Senegal.
