BLACK STARS : Black Stars need a bit of time to gel – Kwesi Appiah

Date:

Former Black Stars and current Sudan coach, Kwesi Appiah, has advised Chris Hughton to be given more time to enable the team to gel.

The coach of the Black Stars has in recent times come under heavy criticism following the bad showing of the team in their international friendlies against Mexico and the USA two weeks ago.

The team undertook the USA tour in preparation for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

In an interview, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Exco member said, “Black Stars need a bit of time to gel.”

“I was able to watch the games, but most of the time, as a coach, my concentration is not on the results.

“As a coach, you will have to pick positives from the results, and that also helps you to build a good team and also helps you in your decision-making in the progression of the team.

“Sometimes when you win, it has a negative effect as well, so I will only say, Let’s give ourselves the time to shape the team,” he added.
