Bole mosque, one of six mud mosques built in the Sudanese-Sahelian architectural style located in the now Sahara region, formally the Northern Region, has collapsed amidst the prolonged heavy rainfalls.
The incident occurred on Sunday, September 17, and was accompanied by the washing away of the Doli Bridge in the Bole District.
This mosque, constructed using mud and wood and closely resembling the Larabanga Mosque, was built shortly after the iconic Larabanga Mosque.
The collapse of the historic mosque stirred discussion among various sections of the public. Unfortunately, some individuals unfamiliar with the mosque mistakenly believed it to be the Larabanga Mosque that had collapsed.
Fortunately, the Larabanga Mosque remains in good condition and continues to attract tourists.
