AFCON: Chris Hughton names 24-man squad for Madagascar clash

Date:

Black Stars head coach, Chris Hughton, has named a 24-man selected squad to face Madagascar in an AFCON Group E qualifier match.

FC Nordsjaelland hot-shot Ernest Nuamah earns his first call-up to the senior side as Majeed Ashimeru and in-form winger Joseph Paintsil retained their place in the squad.

There had been hopes that the former Brighton and Hove Albion coach would name at least one local player in the squad since he was spotted at various BetPawa Premier League match venues.

The Ayew brothers and Arsenal star, Thomas Partey, maintained their place in the team.

Ghana will travel to Antananarivo on Sunday, June 18, 2023, to face Madagascar.
