Before Kurt came, the clubs had to finance themselves – Berry Ladies CEO

Date:

The Chief Executive Officer and Bankroller of Berry Ladies Football Club, Mrs. Gifty Oware-Mensah has commended the Ghana Football Association’s President, Kurt E.S Okraku for his performance when it comes to women’s football in Ghana.

The Black Maidens management team member revealed the clubs struggled to finance themselves in the league before Kurt Okraku assumed the position of president of the Ghana Football Association.

Speaking in an interview on Max FM, she said, “Before Kurt came, the clubs (women) had to finance themselves. This season, Malta Guinness became the headline sponsor of the league. Melcom joined to help the women, Betway came in to train our staff, and we go to Goil to give us coupons to travel.”

“As we are moving ahead, there’s a lot that has come in the Kurt Okraku administration that used not to be there. We are on Max TV when we are playing,” she added.

The 2022/23 season on the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier according to stakeholders of the beautiful game has been one of the best seasons in women’s football in Ghana, in terms of sponsorship and organization.
