The 2022 CAF Championship of African Nations (CHAN) tournament’s grand finale is scheduled.
At the completion of the competition, Senegal will be one of the two teams vying for gold.
In the semifinal match on Tuesday, January 31, the Lions defeated Madagascar 1-0.
An early goal in the fifth minute of the closely contested match between the two nations determined the outcome.
Thankfully for Senegal, it was their young player Pape Diallo who scored the crucial goal to advance them to the championship game.
The host nation Algeria faced off against Niger in the opening match, which was played before the Senegal vs. Madagascar semifinal match.
The hosts controlled play the whole game, winning routinizingly 5-0 after the full 90 minutes.
Senegal and Algeria will now face off in the CHAN 2022 championship game.
The final game will take place on February 4th, a Saturday.
