On Sunday afternoon, Arnold Abbey-Mensah struck a penalty kick in injury time to give Great Olympics a 2-1 victory against Aduana Football Club.
At the Accra Sports Stadium today, Great Olympics , the capital-based team met the title-chasing side from Dormaa.
Aduana Stars seized the lead after just 13 minutes when Kwame Adom Frimpong equalized with a superb effort in a game that served as a matchday 24 match of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) season.
Great Olympics scored in the 30th minute, courtesy of a strike by Iddrisu Murad, to restore parity.
The game was won in spectacular manner by the host team in injury time in the second half.
The goal occurred after Great Olympics were awarded a penalty kick, much to the dismay of the visitors.
Arnold Abbey-Mensah came up and scored to give the Oly Dade lads the three points.
According to today’s results, Great Olympics has moved up to fourth place in the Ghana Premier League table, while Aduana Stars has dropped to fifth place.
