The president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has assured stakeholders of the continual support of betPawa in the development of Ghana football.
He was speaking at the 30th GFA Congress held at the Ghanaman Soccer Center for Excellence, Prampram, on Tuesday, August 27.
The Locker Room Bonus initiative by betPawa saw 490 Ghana Premier League players rewarded after each winning matchday.
A total of GH¢1.23 million was paid during the 2023-24 season, except for the players of Asante Kotoko.
While commending the partnership with the Nigerian-based betting company, Mr. Okraku insisted the relationship remains intact and its benefit would spread to the Malta Guiness Women’s Premier League.
“Our partnership with betPawa is in full force. We saw the commissioning of the new Astro turf. At the minute we are engaging with betPawa to support us in other areas.
What I can also say for the fact is that the locker room bonus will stay. We are currently also engaging them to include players from our women’s premier league,” he said.
The season of 2023-24 enjoyed 3,094 payouts of the Locker Room Bonus, as the league winners, FC Samartex, received a special package from betPawa.
