Sudan’s huge, shocking 4-0 defeat to Niger presents the Black Stars a rare opportunity to make a stunning comeback in the running for a spot at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Otto Addo, head coach of the Black Stars, is yet to record a win in the qualifying rounds for Morocco 2025 so far after two defeats and two draws, plunging them to the bottom of Group F.
With Angola already qualified for the continental competition, Sudan were well on their way to book the second ticket available after beating the Black Stars till they were left red-faced by Niger in Togo on Thursday, November 14.
Ghanaians would be hoping their beloved Black Stars redeem themselves by upsetting the Palancas Negras of Angola, who are on a winning streak, when they go toe-to-toe on Friday, November 15.
Otto Addo reckons his charges are both mentally and physically ready for the crunch tie, when he met the media ahead of the game in Luanda.
“But I think mentally the boys are ready. I’m looking forward to that game. It’s time for our first victory in this competition,” the former Borussia Dortmund talent coach said.
“I think it’s a great opportunity to keep the chance alive,” he added.
