2025 AFCON Q: Nigeria book place in Morocco

Date:

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have booked their place at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations following a 1-1 away draw with Benin.

Victor Osimhen’s equalizer for the Super Eagles not only ensured they qualified for Morocco 2025, but also confirmed them as winners of Group D.

The three-time African Champions went behind to a Mohammed Tijani first-half header before the Galatasaray’s leveler nine minutes before full time.

Benin, Rwanda, and Libya fall behind Nigeria, who currently have 11 points before their final fixture next week.

“It was a tough game and I congratulate the players for a spirited display in the second half that earned us the equaliser,” the proud caretaker coach of the Super Eagles, Augustine Eguavoen, said after the game.
