2024-25 GPL: Antwi rescues Kotoko, Nations bag first win

Date:

Former Accra Great Olympics midfielder Emmanuel Antwi helped Asante Kotoko to gain a point against Young Apostles at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.

The Porcupine Warriors kicked off their second game in the 2024-25 Ghana Premier League season against newcomers, Young Apostles on Sunday afternoon.

Daniel Lomotey fired the Wenchi boys ahead in the 51st minute, but Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum’s side thwarted any attempt of an away win for the visitors through Antwi’s 79th minute strike to restore parity.

At Dun’s Park, Frimpong Manso’s Bibiani GoldStars secured a 1-0 home win over Basake Holy Stars through Frank Amankwah’s 73rd minute strike.

Nations FC bagged a superb 1-2 away win over Aduana FC at Dormaa, as Nafiu Sulemana and Faisal Charwatey scored for the visitors.
