After defeating Remo Stars of Nigeria 1-0 on Sunday, Medeama SC head coach Augustine Evans Adotey has his sights on guiding his team to a successful outcome in the rematch in Nigeria that will guarantee their advancement to the next round of the CAF Champions League.
At the Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday, the Ghanaian champions narrowly defeated their opponents in the first leg.
The Ghana Premier League champions got off to a hard start, but they ultimately capitalized on their strength when Jonathan Sowah scored the game’s lone goal in the 22nd minute to secure a crucial victory.
Coach Adotey complimented Remo Stars’ perseverance in his post-match remarks and vowed that his squad will use every means at its disposal to defeat the Nigerian club in the rematch, which will take place at Remo Stars Stadium in Ogun State, Nigeria, the following week.
“Remo Stars were fitter than us; we expected them to defend and hit with the counter-attack but they attacked and attacked”
“We played against a very disciplined team. We did our best and we hope to complete the job in Nigeria,” he said.
