Gifted teenage midfielder Mensah Kagawa and the rest of the Black Starlets are ready to make Ghana proud at the 2025 WAFU B Zone Championship.
The Black Starlets are poised to take on Nigeria in yet another classic in the semi-final of the ongoing tournament in Ivory Coast.
In a pre-match presser on Monday, September 29, Kagawa highlighted the significance of the game given the rich rivalry history between both countries when it comes to sports but expressed readiness to fight for Ghana:
“We know Ghana-Nigeria matches go beyond football,” Kagawa said. “It is a rivalry that carries history, pride, and passion. We know what’s at stake, and as a team, we’re ready to give it our all to make the nation proud.
The winner of the game will not only reach the final but also clinch an automatic slot at the 2026 U17 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The match is scheduled to come off at 7:00 p.m. GMT in Yamoussoukro on Tuesday, September 30.
