The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced 534,672 candidates have received placement so far.
This signifies a 52,492 increase from the previous 483,800 since the school placement exercise began.
A resolution centre was set up at the GNAT Hall to help parents and their wards to self-place themselves into the senior high schools.
Head of Public Relations at the GES, Daniel Fenyi, disclosed one major problem encountered was the large number of candidates requesting a change from categories ‘C’ and ‘B’ to category ‘A’ schools:
“The difficulty is that there are limited spaces in Category ‘A’ schools, which have been filled up. Again, a candidate placed in a particular school cannot be changed except under circumstances of health grounds or relocation.”
