On Sunday, Tamale City FC defeated Aduana Stars 2-1 in game eight of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) after coming from behind.
At Tamale’s Aliu Mahama Stadium, it was the newcomers’ first triumph in the league this year.
Tamale City are presently ranked 17th in the rankings with six points, and despite their loss, Aduana Stars continue to lead the table with 16 points thanks to the defeats of Accra Lions and Asante Kotoko.
Bright Adjei scored the opening goal for Aduana in the 53rd minute after the first half ended scoreless, but substitute Eduku equalized for the home team in the 73rd.
Five minutes before the end of regulation, Mensah made it 2-1, and Tamale City won.
As the top division takes a hiatus for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar in 2022, this will be the final match for both teams.
Once the world championship is over, the league resumes.
