Hasaacas Ladies held their spot at the top of the Southern Zone in the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League after a 1-1 draw with Police Ladies at the Alajo AstroTurf on Saturday, February 22.
Both teams entered the match aiming for victory, following an intense earlier clash in Takoradi where Police Ladies secured all three points.
Police Ladies started strong, but Hasaacas had the first real chance as Veronica Baah Kumah’s close-range shot was parried away by the goalkeeper. Police responded with a swift attack, hitting the post before Deborah Afriyie capitalized on a rebound in the 30th minute to give them the lead.
Hasaacas improved significantly in the second half, dominating possession and launching continuous attacks in search of an equalizer.
