A South Korean woman in her twenties has been sentenced to four years in prison for blackmail.
The woman, named Yang, was accused of extorting 300 million won (USD 200,000) from South Korea’s footballing hero, Son Heung-min.
Yang alleged the former Tottenham captain had her pregnant, sending him a foetal ultrasound image with threats of making it public.
Her luck ran out after her accomplice (boyfriend) decided to extort 70 million won more, which Son refused and rather informed the South Korean police.
The two accused have since been incarcerated from May 2025 till their sentencing in December.
