2025 AFCON: Claude Le Roy Names Nigeria a Title Favourite

Date:

Former Ghana national team coach Claude Le Roy has named two favourites to win the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The 2025 AFCON will start later this month and will end in January next year.

Speaking to Canal+, Le Roy insisted that Morocco and Nigeria were the favourites to win the AFCON.

Recall that Ivory Coast are the reigning champions after winning the last edition of the competition.

They defeated Nigeria’s Super Eagles 2-1 in the final to claim the trophy at home.

Speaking about the 2025 AFCON, Le Roy said, “So yes, Nigeria remains one of the favourites for the AFCON after Morocco.”

Nigeria’s first match in the 2025 AFCON is against Tanzania, while Morocco, the host nation, will tackle Comoros.
