We showed lots of determination and we’re still progressing – Andre Ayew

Captain of the Black Stars of Ghana Andre Ayew says the team showed a lot of determination against the Ivory Coast.

The Black Stars drew 0-0 with Ivory Coast in a friendly game at the Cape Coast Stadium last Saturday.

Ayew who spoke to the StarTimes crew after the game said though they could not score, they showed a lot of determination, and the team is progressing well.

“We showed a lot of determination and good play. They were dangerous from set-pieces but we prevented them from scoring and you can see there was progress. Now our focus is on the next game against Ethiopia in September”.

The Black Stars played Morocco in Rabat and lost 1-0 before drawing blank against Ivory Coast last Saturday.

Their next assignment will be in September when they take on Ethiopia in the World Cup qualifiers.
