“Wayɛ Me Yie” Marked My Breakthrough— Piesie Esther

Date:

Award-winning gospel singer Piesie Esther has opened up about her breakthrough journey in music, crediting her hit single Wayɛ Me Yie as the song that changed everything for her while encouraging fans to embrace faith, fashion, and hard work with humility.

According to the celebrated artist, her music career took a new turn when Wayɛ Me Yie connected deeply with listeners across the world. She explained that for gospel artists, going on tour means combining shows and programmes from various agents and performing them back-to-back depending on location and schedule.

Also a process that has allowed her to reach more souls with her message of hope.

Piesie Esther also addressed critics who believe her focus on fashion distracts from her ministry. She maintained that her sense of style is intentional and modest, designed to inspire others and even attract people to Christianity. “Some people have told me that my dressing makes Christianity attractive. I always make sure what I wear doesn’t expose my body but glorifies God,” she shared.

Speaking on competition in the gospel industry, the singer noted that while healthy rivalry can motivate artists to work harder, jealousy and envy have no place in ministry. She also encouraged fellow musicians to support one another, adding that not sharing a colleague’s flyer does not necessarily mean a lack of love. For her, it is more important to focus on the calling and trust God’s timing in everything.

After the release of her recent single, Nyame Yɛ, the singer revealed she has received overwhelming positive feedback, with many listeners testifying how the song has blessed them.

She acknowledged that shows remain her main source of income but added that fans often reach out to bless her financially as well. Advising her followers, she said, “If you get money, use it wisely.” Piesie Esther concluded by urging award committees to ensure fairness in nominations, creating a free and transparent environment for all artists.
