WAFCON 2024: Cudjoe set sight on first Ghana win

Date:

Deputy captain of the Black Queens of Ghana, Jennifer Cudjoe, is expected to make return to the starting lineup against Mali on Friday night.

The Black Queens are looking for redemption heading into their second game in the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

Cudjoe reveals the Queens’ eagerness to make their presence felt at the tournament; they work extremely hard to qualify.

“We must do this for the fans back home and across the world,” she said on Thursday, July 10.

Meanwhile, the Malians are upbeat about their chances against the Ghanaians after recording a morale-boosting 1-0 win over Tanzania in their first game.

“Winning our first game means that we have a mental edge going into the game against Ghana,” said Mali’s coach, Houssein Salloum Mohamed.

The Black Queens are hoping to topple over Mali for a fourth win in their fifth match-up.
