WAFCON 2023 Q: Black Queens thrash Rwanda 5-0

Date:

The Black Ghana have advanced to the next round of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers following a superb 5-0 win over the She-Amavubi of Rwanda in the second leg.

Alice Kusi shone with a stellar first half hat-trick, including a stunning 25-yard strike to open the scoring for the dominant Black Queens.

Evelyn Badu added her name to the score sheet to ensure Ghana ended the first half with a commanding 4-0 lead.

The second forty-five minutes was not different from the first as the Queens dominated possession, however, they only had one goal to show for it. The young star, Stella Nyamekye capped off a great showing with a stunning solo goal late in the game.

Namibia is next to face Ghana in the qualifying round of the WAFCON to be held in Morocco in 2024.
