Several students of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), were turned away from campus on Wednesday, July 2, by a disciplinary task force over what officials deemed “indecent dressing.”
This move follows earlier warnings from university authorities about a crackdown on inappropriate attire on campus.
According to reports , the affected students were removed from classrooms and instructed to return home or to their hostels to change before being allowed back.
One student, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed that multiple individuals were stopped at the entrance and during lectures, and told to only return in more appropriate clothing.
As of the time of this report, UPSA management had not issued an official statement on the incident. However, the action appears to be part of renewed efforts to strictly enforce the school’s code of conduct and reinforce discipline among the student body.
