U-20 Women’s World Cup: Ghana’s Black Princesses lose 2-0 to Japan

Date:

At the Estadio Alejandro Morera Soto in Alajuela, Costa Rica, for the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, the Black Princesses of Ghana fell to Japan by a score of 2-0.

The Princesses got out to a strong start in the game and controlled play for the first 45 minutes.

Suzzy Duah of Ghana was penalized for catching the ball with her hands inside the penalty area during the second half as Ghana continued to dominate Japan.

Chun Garam, the player wearing the number 10 shirt for Japan, sent Ghana’s goalkeeper the wrong way by placing the ball in the right corner.

A second penalty was awarded to the Japanese when one of their players was hauled down in the box by a defender for Ghana.

The Black Princesses are eliminated from the tournament as a result of the loss after suffering two losses.

The Black Princesses were down to 10 after their opening match against the USA ended in a 3-0 defeat.

After defeating Ghana and the Netherlands in two Group D games, the United States and Japan each have six points.

In their final Group D match, Ghana will face the Netherlands, who have also been eliminated from the competition.
