Tributes pour in for a fallen hero of Ghanaian football, Daniel Annor Walker.
Coach Annor Walker died at the age of 65 at home following a brief illness.
He would be fondly remembered for his time with Accra Great Olympics.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko, where he played as a defender in the 80s, paid a tribute to him:
“Asante Kotoko SC is saddened to hear of the passing of our former player Annor Walker, who joined the Porcupine squad in 1981.
Rest in peace, Walker, a true servant of the Ghanaian game.”
Accra Great Olympics posted, “He wasn’t just a coach but a prayer leader 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
Rest well, Sir.”
FC Samartex, former champions of the Ghana Premier League, a club he guided to the top flight for the first time, posted:
Coach Annor was the head of our technical team in our first season in the Ghana Premier League.
The veteran coach had stints with many football clubs and the national teams, including but not limited to Nania FC, Berekum Chelsea, and Accra Great Olympics, and was the technical director for Vision FC until his demise.
His impact and legacy will linger among the football fraternity.
We at Samartex sympathise with the wife, the children, the family, and Vision Football Club.
