At the Cocoa Marketing Board (CMB) market near Accra Brewery Limited (ABL), on Thursday afternoon, a KIA truck registered GC 334-09 crashed into hawkers and Christmas shoppers, resulting in one fatality and three injuries.
The crash that happened at 1:30 p.m. made the traffic situation worse for cars on Graphic Road.
The deceased has been recognized as one of the local hawkers who had the head crushed.
Three injured people, one of whom had her intestines flowing out, were taken to the hospital by ambulance.
Witnesses claimed that after a suspected brake failure, the car lost control and crashed into consumers and vendors at the crowded CMB market.
